Skate Canada New Brunswick is committed to supporting efforts toward reconciliation which includes honouring the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on September 30th.
On this day, Skate Canada New Brunswick will be closed so that we take time to reflect on and commemorate the history and legacy of Indigenous people of Canada.
SCNB encourages its community to engage purposefully towards reconciliation. Below are few activities that can help everyone learn how reconciliation may be realized:
- Learn about residential schools, and survivors
- Residential School Survivor Stories
- Learn the history of the land you live on or the closest residential schools
- Attend a community event:

- National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | Culture Days
- National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation Events
- Know the Truth and Reconciliation Commission recommendations related to Sport and consider how to put them into action at your club.
