Skate Canada New Brunswick (SCNB) is pleased to be able to offer the Active for Life Bursary and Post Secondary Bursary. These are awarded on a yearly basis.
If applying for both bursaries, seperate applications must be submitted; hence two applications must be sent.
Active for Life Bursary ($250)
You may apply for the following bursary if you are:
- an Adult participant (regardless of program) OR
- A member who remains active through coaching, officiating [judge/assessor (evaluator)/technical panel official or data specialist] OR
- A current member of SynchroSkate participating in an adult or youth team (must have skated on a team for a minimum of two (2) seasons)
- A resident of New Brunswick and registered with a New Brunswick skating club/school during the current season.
Application process
Applicants must submit the following to be considered. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Cover letter must include:
- Name
- Mailing address
- Email address
- Skate Canada Number
- Which role pertains to the applicant (ie Adult skater, SynchroSkate, etc)
- Reasons why you should be awarded the bursary
- Proof of registration with Skate Canada.
- SynchroSkate athletes must provide proof that have been skating on a team for a minimum of two (2) seasons.
- Coaches, officials and data specialist must have completed continuing education and/or received a promotion for the current season and provide proof.
- A recent photograph of the applicant.
Previous winners may not apply.

Post Secondary Bursary ($500)
You may apply for the following bursary if you:
- Have been a member of a SCNB Club/School for over 10 years (provide proof)
- Two (2) supporting letters of which one is from home club and the other is from another person outside of skating demonstrating:
- Dedicated at school and at the rink.
- Volunteers within their club, school and/or community
- Program Assistant (PA) on CanSkate sessions - club must confirm that the applicant is currently an active PA.
- Applicant must be enrolled in post-secondary institution for the upcoming school year.

- Cover letter which must include:
- Name
- Mailing address
- Email address
- Skate Canada Number
- Reasons why you should be awarded the bursary
- Proof of registration with Skate Canada for over 10 years.
- Provide a record of confirmation of enrolment from the post-secondary institution.
- Two (2) supporting letters as requested above.
- A recent photograph of the applicant.
