With the launch of Skate Canada’s Long-Term Development (LTD; available on SC’s Members Site: https://members.skatecanada.ca/en-US/) and new competition calendar (https://skatecanada.ca/2021/07/skate-canada-announces-changes-to-event-calendar-for-the-2022-2026-olympic-quadrennial/ ), SCNB undertook a revision of its events calendar. With goals of aligning with Skate Canada events, and providing meaningful opportunities, the following is being planned for the 2022-23 season.

Mandatory training for coaches and clubs
SCNB has partnered with Shae Zukiwsky, Skate Canada Senior Director, Performance Excellence to share his knowledge vis a vis the newly minted LTD. He is a wealth of knowledge!

  • Coaches – May 14 in Dieppe and August (location and date to be determined; sessions are different)
  • Clubs – early-mid September at SCNB AGM
  • Sessions last 3 - 3.5 hrs

Event calendar (subject to change)

  • A Town Hall will be held in early June to present the following.
  • The competitions will be renamed. Let’s say adieu to the past two years and reset!
  • Club wishing to host events will need at the minimum:
    • Five (5) ethernet connections (wall connections and NOT Wifi).
    • At least three (3) of these must be accessible rink side (for camera, music/announcer and kiss and cry) and have, at minimum, an uploading speed of 200.
    • The intent is to have officials on-site this season. Due to a low number of officials in NB, judges and technical panel officials will need to travel to NB. Consequently, an airport must be within 1 hour of host club arena.
    • Accommodations for officials will be single occupancy unless he/she/they agree to share with another official. Ample accommodations must be close to the host arena.
  • 2022-23 potential competition dates:
