SCNB is looking for hosts for its 2022-23 competitions.

2022-23 Competition Calendar
Event 1: Junior & Senior Sectionals and Fall event
- November 4-6
Event 2: Pre Novice, Novice & Special Olympics Sectionals and FunSkate
- December 9-11 OR 16-17
Event 3: Winter Event and FunSkate
- January 20-22
Event 4: Provincial STAR and Synchro Invitational
- February 4-6 OR 10-12
Expression of interest: Hosting a SCNB event for the 2022-23 skating season
All clubs/regions MUST provide the following information and meet the criteria to host an event.
NOTE: incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Official name of Club or Region
- Name of event(s) seeking to host
- Proposed Budget which includes:
- Ice fees
- Facility room fees (if applicable)
- Ice resurfacing fees (“floods”, if applicable)
- Judges’ Platform – building and installation
- Accommodations for officials (double occupancy rate per night)
- Travel for officials (assume out of province travel will be needed). This number is not mandatory.
- Hospitality (meals for volunteers only)
- Medals and ribbons (if applicable)
- Token of appreciations for officials (approximately 15 people)
- Other things to consider:
- Admin supplies
- Facility information
- Name and address
- Dimensions of the ice surface
- Provide proof of its availability
- Must meet the following criteria:
- Have approximately 48 feet x 8 feet for the judges’ stand
- Needs to be set up at the latest 4 hours before the start of the event
- Five (5) ethernet connections (wall connections and NOT Wifi).
- At least three (3) of these must be accessible rink side (for camera, music/announcer and kiss and cry) and have, at minimum, an uploading speed of 200.
- Rooms are available for:
- Judges and Technical Panel
- Data Specialists
- Heated
- Needs to be available day before start of the event
- Minimum of 2 electrical outlets
- Ethernet connection
- Tables and chairs needed
- Have an on-site and back-up photocopier (total of 2)
- Need to provide 1 box of printing paper
- Spare ink cartridge or toner must be available
- Hospitality for volunteers
- Registration area
- SCNB Boutique area
- Two (2) tables and two (2) chairs
- Internet connection
- Electrical outlet
- Minimum four (4) dressing rooms
- Will be identified with SCNB signs for Women, Men and Gender-Neutral
- Sound system must be able to connect to camera (livestream camera)
- Must be able to play MP3 files and USB keys
- Have approximately 48 feet x 8 feet for the judges’ stand
- Name, email and telephone number of Competition Chairperson
- Name, email and telephone number of Registration Chairperson
- Name and cell phone number of person that can be contacted during the event
- Confirmation of adequate volunteer base to support the competition.
You must agree to the following:
- Use SCNB sponsors as applicable.
- Use SCNB ribbons for STAR 1-3, Beginner and Elementary Synchro.
- Pay a levy (10%) on total registration fees to SCNB.
- Remit the $8 technology fee/skater to SCNB.
- Include message of Section Chair and SCNB logo in event program (if applicable)
- SCNB Board Members, Committee Chairs and Staff do not pay admission fees.
- Not to use the SCNB logo other than in program (if applicable) and on medals.
- Medals must be bilingual.
- Use the SCNB banners.
You are responsible for:
- Securing all volunteers (includes music player and announcer)
- All competition/event related expenses reside with the host club.
- Purchasing medals with the exception of Special Olympics Medal should they be exhibitions.

Following the review of all the applications, the Competition Committee will organize a meeting with the potential competition host and do a site visit. This will be followed by recommendations made to the Skate Canada NB Board of Directors. Successful applicants will be announced on social media.
