NB's first Learn to Skate program in school

Last week, students from the Princess Elizabeth School in Saint John took to the ice for their first CanSkate in school session. This was the first session of this in-school program for the province of New Brunswick.

With Tobi McNamee’s dedication and determination, her forging a partnership with JumpStart, over 98 students put on skates and a helmet for the first time. Through the direction of coach Kaitlynn MacVey-Crawford, skaters navigated through circuits and on raced around the fast tract.

Skate NB would like to CONGRATULATE Tobi and Kaitlynn for initiating and undertaking this great opportunity for NB children. We also want to recognize the Lord Beaverbrook Rink who donated all the ice-time for the 5-week program. We would be remiss not to acknowledge JumpStart who donated equipment for every student.
